Shopping locally conserves fuels used in factory production and shipping, minimizes the amount of land used for megastores and warehouses, and reduces the amount of waste produced by discarded packaging materials.

Bee Power
To understand how the Gobee app came to be, you’ll need to understand a Midwestern frustration. When corn is in season, local farmers sell corn from roadside stands. Our client was looking for sweet corn one day. You never know exactly when or where corn stands will be, though — and he never did end up finding that corn he was looking for.
In this day and age, our client thought there was no reason for there not to be an easy way to find local markets selling their farm’s produce. This sparked an idea. Why not create an app to connect any local markets — farmers, makers, and artisans — with their local community?
Thus, the concept was born. He set out to make an app that introduces local customers to sellers of goods right in their community. The idea is that people often buy products from across the country when there are similar or better products available from someone who lives right next door. This app could help people support their local community and economy, form new local connections, and reduce the waste of shipping.
He reached out to sōsh to help brand the app, optimize the user experience (UX), and roll out a launch plan.
Just Pollen Around
Our creative team worked to develop the GoBee brand from the hive up. We went through countless iterations and creative discussions to develop a name, brand pillars, tone and voice, look and feel, and everything in between. Our client loved the name GoBee as it was meant to imply the app's truest intentions - being the go-between for shoppers and local producers while honoring small businesses and hard workers through the play on words “bee”.
After our team developed the brand, we began to work on the actual UX app development along with a landing page and some promotional ideas. Once approved by the client, GoBee took flight and began to pollinate in counties all across the state of Wisconsin.
